We caught up with Clement E. Hamer, managing partner of ZeeBORN, Inc. at the Shipping 2009 show, North America's premier international shipping and trade conference, in Stamford, Connecticut and asked him about his partnership with Symbio Technologies.

ST: Tell me a bit about ZeeBORN.

H: We are an international software development company focusing on the maritme market. We provide our customers with a complete fleet management solution, with modules for both the business and technical aspects of operating anything from a single yacht to an entire fleet of ships.

ST: What led you to Symbio Technologies?

H: Our two companies have had a longstanding relationship dating back to 2004. I was first attracted to Symbio by a press release I read indicating their involvement with LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project). I knew a bit about LTSP and was interested in working with a company that had that kind of expertise.

ST: What aspects of the Symbiont Solution do you find most useful?

H: First of all, the fact that it works right out of the box. It's easy to set up and works perfectly with our software. Also, the Symbiont Solution is an easily scalable one, just like our products. As our customers add our modules to their system, it's a simple matter to add the hardware they need to run the programs.

ST: What are your future plans for ZeeBORN and Symbio Technologies?

H: We look forward to promoting our products on Symbio's hardware. Both of our companies share common goals with regard to the use of Windows Terminal Services as a means of advancing our businesses. Down the road, ZeeBORN plans to make a promotional film later this year to highlight the use of our software and Symbio's hardware. We're also planning a series of photo shoots about our products and benefits. It's important to note that the maritime market is a global market. Like Symbio Technologies, we at ZeeBORN pride ourselves on being a multi-cultural company that provides services and support on a global scale.
